A beautiful place off the beaten path. A nice and easy hike gives way to a few pretty waterfalls. The trail did take a beating from the recent tropical storm and has several downed trees. Most have been cut away from the team but we did have to step over it around a few.
Campsites are a little too close together for my taste but Moccasin Creek State Park is a well run and nicely maintained campground worthy of 5 stars. My group of 10 and I enjoyed our experience there immensely. The staff is friendly and very helpful. A special thank you to Park Ranger Brian for helping me to extend my visit so that all my friends and I could stay for the Solar Eclipse. Awesome experience!!!
Beautiful mornings at the lake. Clean campground. Kayak and Canoe rentals with life jackets available and fun to take kids out on lake, just check time due back so not rushed. Really close camping spots however and hosts are very strict with their bathroom closing for cleaning times. Could take a good hour at least before they allow you access. Overall pleasant place and friendly campers. Many retirees in RV's with interesting stories :)
We had the privilege of spending the weekend here for the 2017 Solar Eclipse; a lovely little camp ground next to a beautiful lake with great people. My kids had a great time and we highly recommend it.
Very pretty and well maintained. Has water front views, showers, restrooms, water/electric hook-ups and playground. Nice.
